Description

The County Administrative Board is seeking an administrator for contaminated areas.

You will belong to the Environmental and Water Unit, which consists of 23 employees.

The Environmental and Water Unit of the County Administrative Board works with environmental issues across a wide range and towards established regional environmental goals. Through permit assessments, supervision, and preventive advice to businesses in the region, we work for a good environment in Gotland.

Responsibilities

You will work with some of the region's highest priority contaminated areas and, together with your colleagues, ensure that these areas are investigated and, if necessary, remediated so that they no longer pose a risk to human health and the environment.

Your tasks will include supervision, inventory, supervision guidance, and grant management within contaminated areas. Risk classification and inventory according to the MIFO methodology of potentially contaminated areas will be part of your work. There are good opportunities for professional development. Depending on your background and skills, there may be opportunities for coordination responsibilities within the subject area. The extent of remote work can be discussed depending on the tasks that become relevant.

We strive for a flexible organization to handle new assignments or directions from the national level. Therefore, your tasks may change based on new needs.

Qualifications

You have an academic degree focused on environmental issues. You have work experience in contaminated areas and environmental legislation. Other relevant knowledge includes geology, environmental chemistry, hydrology, and remediation work such as environmental technical soil investigations and risk assessments. Experience in supervision within the environmental field is an advantage. Part of the County Administrative Board's work involves handling databases and working with maps. Much of this is done digitally, so we prefer that you can use GIS tools and are accustomed to working with administrative, digital systems that handle large amounts of data.

You are an initiative-taking and driven person with the ability to achieve results according to set goals and can express yourself easily in speech and writing. You are pedagogical, flexible, and have an easy time collaborating. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. You should also have an understanding of the context in which the County Administrative Board operates and therefore be responsive and communicative. A driver's license (B) is a requirement.

As the position is classified for security, a standard background check will be conducted upon potential employment. The position requires that you are a Swedish citizen, but you may have a foreign background.

The County Administrative Board has coordination responsibilities in both crisis preparedness and total defense in the region. This means that you, as an employee, may be part of the crisis management organization and may be assigned to military service.
