Kinab is a company that offers comprehensive services for cleaning and maintenance of recycling environments for, among others, grocery stores, housing cooperatives, and other properties. With a focus on customized solutions and a northern Swedish soul, we strive to create clean and pleasant environments across the country, contributing to both the success of the business and a sustainable environment. We have a number of fully equipped trucks with built-in washing equipment that we call units. Work on a unit is performed by two people who collaborate, supported by administrative staff who assist from the office.

Kinab is growing and is looking for a mechanic/service technician for a new role in the company. You will work in a small team responsible for ensuring that all trucks (units) and facilities are in top condition.

You will work with some of the best builders in the country and get a unique opportunity to learn the trade on-site. We believe that the most important thing to succeed in this job is that you have an interest and experience in mechanics in your spare time.

As a mechanic and service technician at Kinab, you will:

• Perform preventive maintenance and service on the company's own units (trucks with modifications) in the workshop as well as in the field on buried containers. This includes:

  • Heavy metalworking & welding.

  • Service of rotating parts.

  • Vehicle electronics, hydraulics & pneumatics.

  • PLC-based control systems. Wiring and servicing of sensors as well as preparing units for inspection.

• Conduct service at customer sites, including inspections and collaborate with the customer to find solutions.

• Act as a tactical reserve and be able to step in and assist with other tasks as needed.

Please note that the tasks may vary depending on your skills and the needs of the business. For example, we have plans to build new units, and you will assist in that.

Desired profile:

• Previous experience in mechanics and a willingness to develop in this field.

• Driver's license (B).

• Swedish spoken and written.

• You can handle a physically demanding job.

• You must not be afraid of heights or have a fear of confined spaces.

• Comfortable working with waste.

• Ability to travel for work and be away from home overnight occasionally.

• Detail-oriented and enjoy keeping things clean and tidy; we are a vital community function, and it is important to maintain high quality in all aspects.

• Flexible as things happen at our customers' sites, and we must be ready to go out and resolve issues immediately.

• Curious as the company is constantly evolving, and we seek individuals who want to learn.

Preferred qualifications:

• Driver's license (C).

• Experience driving cranes, tractors, or forklifts.

• Built your own vintage tractor or have worked on mechanics in your spare time.

• Good computer skills and experience with CAD design.

Start: Immediately

Working hours: 40 hours per week with flexible hours, and you control your own time.

Location: You will start from the workshop in Tullinge but will work in the Mälardalen region.

Employment type: Temporary 3-6 months, with a chance for extension.
