Park Worker Wanted at Royal Djurgården

The Royal Djurgården Administration's main task is to manage the King's private right of disposition over Djurgården. Royal Djurgården is one of Stockholm's green lungs, a National City Park, and an important part of the green cultural heritage. The task includes protecting the historical cultural landscape, caring for the existing nature, and adapting the area to people's desire for a stimulating leisure and recreation environment. You will belong to the park and street department responsible for the operation and maintenance of parks, roads, and lighting in northern and southern Djurgården and the Fjäderholmarna.

We are now looking for park workers for the 2026 season. The seasonal period extends from April to November, but it is of course possible to work for a shorter period.

Job Responsibilities:

As a park worker, you contribute to creating a beautiful and pleasant outdoor environment. You perform all tasks related to green space maintenance and upkeep. Common tasks include lawn mowing, clearing brush, removing brush with machinery, maintaining irrigation systems, caring for and establishing green areas/meadow land, cleaning/picking up litter, and checking public waste bins.

Qualifications:

  • Machine operator training or documented experience working with ride-on mowers and/or tractors and equipment.
  • You are at least 18 years old.
  • You have a B driver's license (manual).
  • Strong interest in the green outdoor environment and sustainability issues related to the work.
  • Brush/motor saw certificate RA/AB is an advantage.
  • Experience working with machinery in public environments is an advantage.
  • Training in Hot Work and Work on Roads is an advantage.

Personal Qualities:

As a person, you have a strong service and responsibility mindset. You are flexible, willing to take initiative, and have good collaboration skills. It is also important that you are in good physical shape as the work can be physically demanding.

Other Employment Information:

  • The position is full-time.
  • The duration of employment is determined by agreement.
  • Working hours are during the day according to a schedule.
  • Salary according to applicable agreements.
  • Upon starting employment, a mandatory introductory session will be conducted.
  • Any leave needs during the season must be presented at the time of application. Vacation is granted restrictively.
  • The trade unions are represented by Saco-S, Seko, and OFR/S.
