Clinical Nursing Leader in Head and Neck Surgery
Are you an experienced nurse looking to lead and develop care in head and neck surgery? We are seeking a clinical nursing leader where nursing development, patient safety, and collaboration are in focus, allowing you to combine clinical work with a clear leadership role in close collaboration with the nursing manager.
You will be offered
- Individually tailored introduction based on our introduction program and your prior knowledge and conditions
- Opportunity to work with innovative highly specialized surgical care at the forefront
- Continuing education through lectures and training
- A close collaboration with the nursing manager
About the position
The department is an inpatient ward focusing on surgical treatment of malignant and benign diseases in the head and neck. We also care for oncology patients from other specialties.
As a clinical nursing leader, you will plan, coordinate, and lead the daily patient-centered nursing work. You will serve as a competence support for staff and be a role model in daily work, focusing on quality assurance and effective patient flows. In this role, you will particularly support new and junior staff. You may also have your own patient responsibility, but to a lesser extent.
The tasks involve close collaboration with the nursing manager (OVC) and the staff group. Your tasks include holding morning meetings, initiating rounds, and reflection. The work is independent, which requires good pedagogical and organizational skills.
You are responsible for following up and creating activities with the OVC to ensure that quality indicators are maintained and to identify department-specific training and measurement needs.
You will collaborate with other clinical nursing leaders within the Cancer Theme network. Your mission is to share information, ideas, and improvement suggestions to develop nursing care.
The assignment is a leadership role where you, together with the nursing manager and colleagues, drive issues related to nursing development, improvement work, patient safety, and work environment.
The position is a combined role, meaning you are employed as a nurse full-time but spend 60 percent of your time in the role of clinical nursing leader.
We value each employee's competence and strengths and encourage active participation in the department's development work. Our goal is to continue building a nursing structure where current research underpins clinical work.
This position primarily involves daytime work. Some evening and weekend shifts may be included.
