With us, you will be an important part of offering a good experience with a safe and accessible environment for our visitors at our pools. We are looking for someone who is communicative and has a pleasant demeanor, is service-oriented, and has the interest, willingness, and ability to assist our visitors. Our visitors include school students, active members of associations, and the general public.

Your work includes monitoring pools for safety, assisting visitors at the cash register, and all other tasks involved in running a swimming facility.

In stressful situations, you remain calm and stable and can work carefully, systematically, and focused. As the work may involve rapidly changing conditions, we see that you have good adaptability and see opportunities in changes. You view responsibility as a given and have good collaboration skills with colleagues and external parties such as teachers and trainers. A significant part of our work involves being proactive to prevent accidents, which requires analytical thinking, consistent action, and good judgment.

With us, you will work with greeting and service to our visitors, based on their needs. You also have good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form, as well as good computer skills.

Your main tasks include:

• For large parts of the day, you will work on accident prevention, monitor pools and facilities, check safety equipment, and ensure that visitors follow the safety and comfort rules in the facility.
• According to the existing routines and hygiene requirements, we create a pleasant and clean environment for our visitors.
• Teach swimming classes, lead group training, and perform massages, depending on your qualifications.
• Collaborate with other staff within the swimming facilities and others within the municipality of Jönköping.

Your qualifications

The position of lifeguard requires: A high school education with additional lifeguard training or a certified swimming instructor, pool lifeguard training, or other training that the employer deems equivalent.

The position also requires training in one of the following:

• Certified masseur/aquatic exercise instructor/group training instructor.
• Experience with good references in swimming/service/reception roles.
• Experience with good references working with youth.
• Experience with good references in group training/gym.
• Swimming proficiency is always a requirement, and we require a passing diving and lifeguard test regardless of employment.

You have good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form, as well as good computer skills.

If adequate training is lacking, one can be employed as a pool attendant during competency development towards becoming a lifeguard.

We are now looking for several summer colleagues, and in your application, we would like you to note if you have any preferences regarding placement at one of the four swimming facilities described below.

• Rosenlundsbadet is one of Sweden's largest swimming and wellness facilities.
• Brunstorpsbadet in Huskvarna has one of Sweden's most beautiful locations along the eastern coast of Lake Vättern.
• Attarpsbadet is a popular family pool in central Bankeryd.
• Kumlabybadet is located on Visingsö with a placement in Kumlaby.

Our goals are to create a safe and inclusive environment for our visitors and to teach the municipality's children how to swim. We do this together in a workgroup of about 35 colleagues.

Criminal Record Check

To work with children and youth, we must have an approved extract from the police's criminal record. Order one directly (via post or Bank-ID) when you submit your application, as the normal processing time at the police is about two weeks. Good to know

Before employment, all candidates will undergo swimming/diving tests and work samples as part of the selection process. A minimum age of 18 applies for employment within the swimming operations.

We work to staff our pools from 6:00 AM in the morning until 9:00 PM in the evening, Monday to Sunday. Employment is distributed across several positions at about 70% with the possibility of extended working hours during the summer.
