Set Sail for Your Next Adventure – Work Onboard as a Service Host This Summer!

Are you ready for a job like no other? As a Service Host with Stena Line, the sea becomes your workplace – full of energy, community, and experiences.

As a Service Host, you contribute to our guests' experiences. You may be placed in hotel, restaurant, or shop – sometimes in one area, sometimes in several, depending on the ship and needs.

Our Work Areas:

  • Hotel - Here, you create comfort and coziness for our guests. You clean cabins and common areas, prepare for new departures, and ensure our guests feel welcome and cared for. This requires attention to detail, pace, and a sense of service.
  • Restaurant - In our restaurants, bars, and cafés, you work with table service, cash register, dishwashing, and tidying up. A lot happens in a short time here – you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy collaborating, and aim to provide guests with an experience that makes their journey memorable.
  • Shop - In the shop, you are both a salesperson and an advisor. You ensure that the shelves are well-stocked, the displays are inspiring, and guests receive help finding their favorites – from candy and perfume to drinks and souvenirs.

What We Offer

Working onboard one of our ships is something truly special. Lifelong friendships are formed here, and every day brings new experiences. You live and work onboard for one week at a time, followed by a paid week off on land.

Safety always comes first. Before you start, you will receive thorough training in safety, service, and life at sea. Our training sessions begin in February 2026.

Who Are You?

We are looking for someone who is welcoming, caring, and reliable – three values that permeate everything we do.

You enjoy meeting people, like taking responsibility, and contribute to a positive atmosphere among guests and colleagues. Working onboard can involve a fast-paced work environment and many different tasks – a setting that is both challenging and fun.

Your Must-Haves

  • At least one year of work experience (full-time) in cleaning, hotel, restaurant, and/or shop
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
  • Swim proficient
  • At least 18 years old
  • Valid passport or national ID card
  • Available for scheduling throughout the period of June–August as needed (minimum 3 weeks of work for a total of 6 weeks paid during the summer period)
  • Available for training in spring 2026

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education in hotel, restaurant, or tourism
  • Additional languages

  • You work and live onboard for one week, followed by a paid week off on land.
  • Meals and accommodation are included – cabins may sometimes be shared with a colleague, and our chefs prepare delicious and varied meals onboard.
  • You are expected to work in all our service areas.
  • Working hours vary – day, evening, and night.
  • A medical examination and drug test are required upon hiring, according to our alcohol and drug policy.
  • As part of our recruitment process, we may conduct background checks.

A Fair Recruitment – Without CV or Cover Letter

We receive many applications for our positions and want to give everyone the same chance to showcase their abilities. Therefore, we use a CV-less recruitment process, focusing on your skills, experiences, and potential.

After you answer our selection questions and meet the requirements, you will have the opportunity to take tests as the first step in the recruitment process. This helps us make a fair assessment – we want to get to know you and your potential, not just your application.

All Steps of the Recruitment Process:

Selection questions with your application -> Tests -> Digital group interview -> Individual interview -> Job offer -> Medical examination -> Introduction day -> Safety training -> Digital training -> Introduction days onboard

Interested?

The position is a seasonal employment starting by agreement but no later than week 24. We expect you to be able and willing to work full-time during the summer of 2026 (minimum 3 weeks of work, totaling 6 weeks of paid work). Selection and interviews will be ongoing. The final application date is March 31. We have a collective agreement with SEKO.
