Chief of Staff at Östgötatrafiken

Are you looking for a broad and developing role where you have the opportunity to make a difference every day? Östgötatrafiken is seeking a strategic and engaged Chief of Staff with the capacity to drive and develop business support within the organization.

Östgötatrafiken is owned by Region Östergötland and is tasked with delivering attractive and efficient public transport for all of Östergötland. This is done in close collaboration with municipalities, authorities, transport companies, and internal departments.

As Chief of Staff, you hold a central position within the organization and have overall responsibility for leading, coordinating, and developing the Business Support department. The department consists of nine professional employees responsible for HR, procurement, finance, business development, and office services.

Responsibilities

In the role of Chief of Staff, you will lead and develop Östgötatrafiken's shared support functions. You will ensure that the department delivers high-quality support to the core business and that the company's internal processes are both efficient and legally secure. You will act as the CEO's right hand and assist in both strategic and operational matters.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Personnel, budget, and operational responsibility for the Business Support department.
  • Drive and develop the company's business plan (ongoing three years).
  • Planning and execution of management group meetings, employee days, and management meetings, together with the CEO.
  • Process leader for management and authority support.
  • Overall responsibility for the organization's project portfolio.
  • Owner and overall responsible for the management model.
  • Sustainability reporting.
  • Crisis and preparedness issues.
  • Overall local responsibility.

You report to the CEO and are part of the management team. Work in the management team is characterized by a holistic perspective on common issues, which means you are engaged in the entire organization's results and actively contribute to the company's development.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you need:

  • Many years of relevant work experience, preferably from similar roles.
  • A university degree in, for example, law or economics.
  • Good knowledge in the HR field.
  • At least five years of current management experience with personnel, budget, and work environment responsibility.
  • Experience in politically governed operations.
  • Good administrative skills.
  • Good experience in management team work.
  • The ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

It is advantageous if you also have:

  • Participated in qualified leadership development programs.

The role places high demands on your ability to create and maintain good relationships both internally and externally. You have an outgoing, unpretentious, and development-oriented approach. You value accountability and work systematically with follow-up against both financial and operational goals.

Your leadership is stable, courageous, and situationally adapted. You have the ability to lead in change, see opportunities, and dare to try new ways of working. As a skilled communicator, you build trust, motivate your surroundings, and create engagement and participation among your employees.
