Head of Home Care
In Region Gotland, you can develop and grow, both as an individual and together with others. When you work with us, you contribute to making Gotland an even better place for people in all stages of life. We make each other better.
Home Care
The Home Care service in Gotland is part of the social administration and offers safe and professional care at home, both at the primary care level and with specialized interventions.
The operation is organized in multiprofessional teams with nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and nursing assistants, providing a broad competence and a holistic view of the patient's needs.
To create closeness and continuity, home care is divided into three areas: northern and central Gotland, Visby, and southern Gotland. A total of about 80 employees work closely with primary care, home care services, special accommodations, and care for people with disabilities.
The management consists of a department head, three unit managers, and a business developer, supported by a digitalization coordinator. Together, we drive the development of a modern and person-centered home care where the patient is always at the center.
Your Responsibilities
As the head of Home Care, you have the overall responsibility for driving and developing home care in a time of changing population structure. The department is in a changing phase and simultaneously faces significant challenges, especially in recruitment and competence supply, which places high demands on strategic and long-term leadership. You lead the work to ensure that care is safe, secure, and individualized, and that patients receive the care they need and are entitled to in collaboration with health care.
You have three unit managers and a business developer to support you, for whom you have direct personnel and work environment responsibility. You also have support from a digitalization coordinator, who is part of the department's management team. You also lead a collaboration group at the departmental level based on Region Gotland's collaboration agreement.
Within given financial frameworks, you conduct an efficient operation with high quality, focusing on the patient. You have a results responsibility according to Region Gotland's governance model for a balanced economy, which includes work with regular forecasts, budgets, and quality follow-ups. As the head of the department, you ensure that methods and working methods yield the best possible results. To achieve this goal, good collaboration both internally and externally is required, where you represent the department's issues in both contexts.
You report to the social director and are part of the social administration's management team, where you are expected to contribute with engagement, drive, and initiative.
Who Are You?
We are looking for someone with several years of relevant managerial experience, where you have also led through other managers. You are confident in driving development and change work, and your experience of working under the Health and Medical Services Act (HSL) enables you to navigate complex regulations and ensure high quality in operations. You have a university degree in health and social care and can express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing. You also have good computer skills and a B driving license.
We consider it an advantage to have education in leadership, labor law, and work environment; experience of working in health and medical care and in politically governed operations; and experience of collaboration agreements (between employer and trade union parties).
To succeed in the role of head of Home Care, you need to combine results focus with clear communication and a genuine commitment to the development of home care. You have a strong ability to collaborate and are confident in leading through others, with the ability to see the whole and solve complex problems. The role requires you to be self-driven while working systematically to create sustainable solutions and lasting results.
