Care Assistants/Nursing Students Wanted for Umeå Municipality

The elderly care in Umeå Municipality aims to be a resource that liberates and strengthens people's ability to live an independent life through proximity and interaction.

We are now looking for care assistants/nursing students for our operations this summer.

We are currently looking for care assistants/qualified nursing aides for our three operations; home healthcare, care and nursing homes, and evening and night patrols.

Your Responsibilities

As a care assistant/qualified nursing aide within Health and Medical Care, you will work with delegated tasks at the primary care level together with our nurses. You will perform tasks delegated by the nurse such as distributing APO doses, dressing changes, venipuncture, and blood pressure/pulse measurements.

About You

We are looking for someone who is a trained care assistant or has completed at least two semesters of nursing studies and wishes for a flexible and developing job. You have experience working in healthcare and have previously worked with medical tasks such as blood sampling, wound dressing, testing, and medication delegation from a nurse.

It is an advantage if you have experience in home care, care and nursing homes, personal assistance, emergency care, inpatient care, or outpatient work. We also welcome nursing or medical students.

You have good initiative and are good at thinking outside the box. You can work independently while recognizing the importance of collaboration with various professional roles, where the person receiving care also has an active role. Naturally, you have a good, respectful demeanor and are attentive and open in your interactions with both the individuals being cared for and their relatives. You are good at collaborating and want to contribute to good communication and cooperation with other actors.

You have a driver's license and are accustomed to driving. Since there may be pets and smoking in the workplace, you should not be allergic. Scheduled working hours will be during the day, evening, and weekends.

The position is a temporary full-time position during the period from June 15 to August 9, and we also offer employment until August 31. The onboarding starts on June 1.
