The National Pension is one of the largest departments of the Swedish Pensions Agency with about 400 employees located in 8 locations from Luleå in the north to Halmstad in the south.
The department for National Pension Affairs is responsible for ensuring the processing and handling of payments for Sweden's pensioners and pension savers. The mission also includes ensuring that incorrect payments are not made and preventing benefit fraud.
The department is undergoing a major transformation journey where we want to strengthen our employees and our organization to better meet our customers where they are.
We are now looking for a temporary group manager in Karlstad.
About the job
Together with other group managers, you have overall responsibility for the operations within the unit and are part of a management team where you contribute to the strategic work. Based on a clear employer role, you have personnel, results, and follow-up responsibility for about 20 employees within your area of responsibility and lead the operational work. Furthermore, you are responsible for ensuring that the operations are conducted with high quality, service, efficiency, and cost awareness. Most of our meetings are held digitally, but physical meetings also take place, which means that travel may occur in the position. You will lead change and clearly communicate vision, goals, and values to your employees.
As a manager at the Swedish Pensions Agency, you are also responsible for driving an active work environment and health effort and contributing to creating a developing workplace. Furthermore, you are responsible for creating conditions through dialogue for employees to take responsibility for their assignments, goals, and professional development. Your profile
You have previous managerial experience where your leadership is based on a trust-based approach. You have knowledge and the ability to lead change in operations with a strong customer focus. It is advantageous if you have experience leading a process-driven operation with large case flows. You have a good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing. You have an academic degree that the employer deems relevant.
You also have experience and talent for driving change and development work in an operation with a customer focus. It is advantageous if you have experience with the benefit of national pension.

Your leadership is based on shaping a good employee relationship that focuses on developing effective working methods to create value for our customers. You are goal- and result-oriented, possess good leadership qualities, and are motivated by developing employees. Furthermore, you have high integrity, a holistic view, and a notably good communicative ability. Since the position involves working in a management team, collaboration, and working with other departments within the agency, it is important that you have very good collaboration skills.
You are pedagogical in your communication and adapt the information to the recipient and convey it well.

Good to know
The employment is a full-time temporary position, with a start date according to agreement, but no later than 2026-11-30. The place of employment is Karlstad.
The employment may be placed in a security class.

The Swedish Pensions Agency is responsible for the national pension and informs about the entire pension. Each year, we pay out about 415 billion SEK to 2.3 million pensioners, conduct about 911,000 fund switches, and send out 8 million orange envelopes. We have about 25 million digital customer contacts per year. We are approximately 1,700 employees at eight locations, from Luleå in the north to Halmstad in the south.
