Job Responsibilities

The Functional Support Administration, Department of Authority and Preventive Social Services, is currently establishing a first-line reception, a guiding and preventive support, in accordance with the intentions of the new Social Services Act.

We are now looking for an occupational therapist whose mission is to contribute, together with social workers providing advice and support and social psychiatry's assistance administrators, to make a difference for Malmö residents at an earlier stage and strengthen empowerment for the target group.

In the role of occupational therapist, you will be part of our guiding support by conducting ADL and functional assessments at an early stage based on instruments you think may be functional for this assignment, quality of life instruments that map obstacles and imbalances in daily life as well as the need for short-term or long-term support. In this role, you will belong to a cross-professional team where we look forward to your expertise and knowledge. The work will be carried out alternately at the administration and in individuals' home environments.

The work is characterized by collaboration where the needs of Malmö residents are at the center from a recovery-oriented perspective. Social workers providing advice and support and occupational therapists actively work to ensure that individuals come into contact with the right agencies. The social psychiatry team helps to map and coordinate when more actors need to be involved.

We already handle many cases and sometimes have a high tempo. We often meet people in crisis and vulnerability, and the work involves contact with individuals in difficult and complex life situations with extensive mental health issues and/or comorbidity. Based on the outreach work, the team moves throughout the city, and you therefore need to have a B driver's license. The position involves home visits and sometimes outreach work in risk environments.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• Licensed Occupational Therapist
• 5 years of experience in social work and functional assessments.
• Experience and knowledge of both psychiatric and neuropsychiatric diagnoses.
• Good ability to express oneself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.
• We would like you to have good digital competence.
• B driver's license

It is an advantage if you have:

• Good knowledge of all services according to SoL and LSS.
• Experience with the operational systems Life Care and Excel, as we keep statistics on our cases.
• Good knowledge of recovery-oriented working methods.

We are looking for someone who is unpretentious, has a positive attitude, is self-assured, has a service-oriented approach, and is clear in meetings with users. To be successful in the job, a goal-oriented approach is required, as well as taking initiative and being comfortable meeting people in their home environments. Furthermore, a good ability to organize and structure work independently and experience working with complex issues is required.

You have an interest in supporting and working with people with disabilities and mental health issues. You are flexible in your working methods and have the ability to motivate and stimulate individuals towards change and to create relationships and networks.

About the Workplace

The social psychiatry team is an important preventive and outreach operation where adults in Malmö with mental health issues can turn for guidance to the right support. This can be within social services, Region Skåne, or other agencies. The team particularly works with the gaps that arise when there is no obvious entry point to social services or Region Skåne's receptions. The team currently consists of four social workers providing advice and support, as the team has been strengthened in 2025 with two additional social workers providing advice and support.
