About the Department

Ward 350 is a surgical upper gastrointestinal department with both emergency and planned surgery, specializing in bariatric surgery. Our emergency patients primarily have benign surgical diseases of the gallbladder/bile ducts, pancreas, or stomach. Elective patients are cared for in a specific group where we work with high inflow and outflow.

Responsibilities

As an assistant nurse at Surgical East, you will play a crucial role in our team and contribute to a safe and professional care environment. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting nurses and doctors in their work and ensuring a smooth and efficient care process.
• Performing basic nursing tasks such as taking vital parameters (NEWS2), conducting patient documentation, and preparing patients for surgery.
• Actively participating in care planning and follow-up, where your engagement and observations contribute to high-quality care.
• Monitoring patients' well-being during their time at the clinic and reporting changes to the responsible nurse.
• Contributing to a positive work climate by collaborating effectively with colleagues and supporting each other in the challenges that arise in daily work.

Your contribution will be crucial for our patients to feel safe and cared for throughout their care process.

About You

We are looking for an engaged and caring assistant nurse who is passionate about contributing to the care team at Surgical East! We seek someone who wishes to contribute to a safe and caring environment. To become part of our team at Surgical East, we hope you have the following qualifications:

• Trained assistant nurse with certification for protected professional title.
• Experience in surgical care is an advantage.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team, with a positive attitude.
• Good communication skills and an empathetic approach towards patients.
• Flexibility to handle varying tasks and schedules.
• You are proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written.
