The Role of Nursing Assistant/Care Assistant

You are welcome to apply for an exciting and developing summer job with us in the summer of 2026.

It is important for us that you feel safe, motivated, and prepared for your summer job with us. Therefore, you will receive thorough training based on your needs and experiences.

As a trained nursing assistant or a student in healthcare/medicine, the surgical clinic offers plenty to learn with the support of experienced, competent nursing assistants. In the summer, all four units work together to mutually support each other in our efforts to do our best for our patients. The schedule is planned so that experienced staff work alongside substitutes for safety and competence.

You will work in a team with nurses, doctors, and rehabilitation staff. Your tasks include addressing and meeting our patients' basic care needs. Duties include documentation, hygiene, mobilization, care of tubes and wounds, as well as preparation and aftercare for surgeries and examinations. You are encouraged to participate in rounds as they contribute to your learning. The work is scheduled for days, evenings, weekdays, and weekends, but not nights.

Your Future Workplace

Welcome to the surgical care unit. Here we care for surgical and urological emergency patients across many specialties, as well as patients admitted for surgery. We also care for palliative patients who belong to SSIH (Specialized Healthcare at Home).

Our facilities are open and bright with good ventilation. During lunch, you can choose to sit in our newly renovated staff room, outside on the balcony, or in our shared lunchroom outside the department. In connection with breaks or your work shift, we have a recovery room where you can sit in a massage chair and reflect or listen to music.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who:

• is a trained nursing assistant, caregiver, or studying to become a nursing assistant with previous experience in care work.
• is studying to become a nurse or doctor with previous experience in care work.

To enable good summer planning, we look favorably upon candidates who can work as many weeks as possible between weeks 25-32 during the summer. If you have the opportunity for sporadic training during the spring and week 24, that is a plus. If you need a few days of continuous leave or a long weekend, we welcome requests regarding that before the schedule is set.
