The role of nursing assistant/care assistant

The orthopedic clinic is looking for summer substitutes for our ward A.

At ward A, patients with acute orthopedic injuries and diseases that require treatment are cared for, and this ward is open even during the summer. The clinic also has ward B where patients undergoing planned surgeries are cared for, but this ward is closed during the summer. The clinic also has an orthopedic outpatient clinic. There, patients with pain in the body's musculoskeletal system, i.e., muscles, tendons, skeleton, and joints, are assessed. Patients being treated for fractures are also followed up at the orthopedic outpatient clinic.

As a summer worker in ward A, you will work with care, pre- and post-operative care, sampling, documentation, and mobilization/daily rehabilitation of patients. We work preventively, which means that you will perform checks of vital parameters, elimination, and care prevention. Your working hours will be during the day, evening, and weekends.

The summer jobs are fixed-term full-time positions. We need summer substitute nursing assistants/care assistants from week 25 to 33. It is an advantage if you can work many of – or all – weeks. A regional introduction will take place in addition to these weeks, and we appreciate it if you also have the opportunity to shadow during the spring. You will receive a salary even during the introduction.

The orthopedic clinic at Ryhov County Hospital is Jönköping County's largest orthopedic clinic. We offer treatment, care, and rehabilitation for orthopedic diseases. The clinic is divided into general orthopedics and spine and neck surgery (neuro-orthopedic center). We work for quality, competence, and respect in all interactions. About 150 people work at the clinic.

Your profile

We are looking for someone who is a trained nursing assistant or will be by June 2025 at the latest. Another option is that you are studying to become a nurse or doctor. In that case, we would like you to have completed your third semester, but individual assessment can occur earlier.

To enjoy the summer job, you need to like having a lot of patient contact. You take responsibility for your work and easily adapt to new circumstances. You work well with others, and you have a desire and ability to help others. Your working method is solution-oriented, and you have a positive attitude towards your work. Personal suitability is highly valued.

If you currently have a permanent position as a nursing assistant and do not have proof of a protected title, we ask you to attach a certificate of your permanent position in your application to retain the title of nursing assistant.
