About Mölndal Hospital – a unique environment for anesthesia and perioperative care

Mölndal Hospital is one of Northern Europe's largest orthopedic centers. Here, we conduct round-the-clock orthopedic activities of high complexity and broad scope, making the hospital a highly attractive training environment for future specialists in anesthesia and intensive care. Additionally, we have a hand surgery and ophthalmic surgery department with highly specialized procedures and a national healthcare assignment for children. We also perform kidney transplants on call. Likewise, we have a large day surgery department with significant orthopedic, dental, jaw, and ENT procedures. Our intensive care unit has six ICU beds and extensive postoperative activities, along with an acute pain team. At AnOpIVA Mölndal, you will encounter a workplace with strong collegial support, high ambitions, and an educational climate that provides you with the best conditions for your specialist training. We regularly undergo SPUR reviews, the latest in 2023, with positive feedback regarding educational quality and supervision. We are also certified as a European Center of Excellence (ESAIC 2023).

Research, development, and innovation

AnOpIVA Mölndal has a long tradition of clinical research, education, and method development. Our R&D department is very active, conducting several projects in areas such as digitization, perioperative optimization, pain management, intensive care, and future workflows.

Your ST setup with us

As a resident physician at AnOpIVA Mölndal, you will be part of a joint placement at Sahlgrenska University Hospital for comprehensive, structured, and varied training according to the National Board of Health and Welfare's goal description. You will participate in night and weekend on-call duties after orientation and rotate to SU's other AnOpIVA clinics for specializations in pediatric anesthesia, thoracic anesthesia, neuroanesthesia, obstetric anesthesia, pain management, and prehospital care.
