We are approximately 1800 proud and dedicated employees who provide high-quality service to the residents of Älmhult every day. Our work environment is characterized by collaboration, courage, and participation. Together, we make a difference!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Are you our new Nature Manager?

Do you enjoy fresh air, well-maintained forests full of life, and saving the world (little by little)?

With us, you will have a job where you can influence strategically and act practically – and where the results are visible directly in the nature around us.

What does a nature manager at Älmhult Municipality actually do?

You will be Älmhult's own nature representative, a combination of strategist, problem solver, and spokesperson for nature towards citizens, politicians, and internally.

  • You work strategically as a commissioner of measures for the municipality's production forests.
  • You work both long-term and operationally with the municipality's nature close to housing.
  • Lead various types of projects that make Älmhult greener and more vibrant.
  • You handle inquiries related to forests and nature from the public as well as internally.
  • You are responsible for combating invasive species.
  • You are responsible for hunting issues, including the municipality's protective hunting and the hunting agreements that exist on municipal land.
  • You collaborate with associations, other departments, and authorities to create wonderful nature experiences for all residents of Älmhult.
  • And a lot more, we are a small organization where we help each other with what needs to be done.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who makes things happen, not someone who just thinks about how it could be.

Requirements:

  • You have an education in nature conservation, forestry, ecology, or similar, or equivalent knowledge that the employer assesses as comparable.
  • You thrive when your calendar includes both strategic plans and mud on your boots.
  • You enjoy making decisions and getting things done.
  • You have a B driver's license.
  • You are a team player who can communicate with both bees and people.

Meritorious:

  • You have knowledge of nature conservation legislation and preferably GIS.

What do you get with us?

  • Great opportunities to shape how the municipality's nature will develop long-term.
  • A job with freedom and responsibility.
  • The chance to leave a mark that will be visible for generations.
  • An employer with a collective agreement and benefits.
  • Very nice (if we may say so ourselves) colleagues who want to develop Älmhult and dare to try new things.

OTHER

Your workplace will be in the project and planning department, which consists of six dedicated employees. We are located at the municipal office where you will also have your office.
