Business Development Manager Wanted for Piteå Municipality

Piteå Municipality is now taking the next big step in developing an even stronger and more future-oriented business community. We are looking for a driven and visionary Business Development Manager who wants to raise the level of ambition – and who has the courage and strength to lead an offensive investment in growth, innovation, and sustainable development.

About the Role

As the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for developing and coordinating the municipality's business initiatives. You will be a key person in creating good relationships between the municipality, local businesses, regional actors, and other partners.

Your role involves both strategic and operational work with a focus on business services, business development, and company establishment. You will drive development issues, initiate new collaborations, and ensure that the business perspective is included in the municipality's other planning work.

You will lead a small and specialized team where you will work together to improve the business climate in Piteå.

Your Main Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the municipality's business initiatives
• Strengthen relationships with existing businesses and ensure high quality in the municipality's business services
• Drive efforts with new businesses, establishments, and business development in strategic sectors
• Represent the municipality in municipal, regional, and national networks
• Contribute to and influence strategic decisions within the municipality's planning, development, and land issues
• Analyze external and market trends that affect Piteå's growth and competitiveness

Your Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a relevant university degree or equivalent work experience. You have a good understanding of the market and a deep insight into business conditions through several years of experience in business work, regional development, business development, or leading roles in the private or public sector.

Additionally, you have an understanding of how a municipal organization functions—from political decision-making processes and governance models to collaboration between different operations and external actors.

As a person, you have documented leadership experience and the ability to create engagement and participation in the contexts in which you operate.

You are relationship-building and used to collaborating with many different actors, while also possessing strong strategic skills and thriving in a communicative and outgoing role. We also see you as someone who sees opportunities, takes initiative, and is motivated to work in an environment where development and renewal are at the center.
