Category Manager Buyer

JOAB is a leader in the truck superstructure industry in the Nordic region. We develop, manufacture, and sell lift dumpers, load carriers, fixed flatbeds with cranes, the market's smartest shifting system Cameleont™, and refuse trucks.

About the Role

As a Category Manager Buyer, you will have overall responsibility for one or more purchasing categories, such as mechanics or hydraulics.

The role is strategic, tactical, and also includes operational elements. You will develop supplier relationships, optimize costs, and ensure quality and delivery precision.

You will collaborate closely with production, development, finance, as well as suppliers and partners. You will drive the development of supplier strategies, purchasing processes, and inventory strategies with the goal of creating business value and delivery reliability.

You are an important link between suppliers, technical development, production, and management – and you enjoy taking initiative, challenging the status quo, and seeing results.

As a Category Manager Buyer, you will play a key role in enhancing quality and contributing to creating an even more data-driven, sustainable, and business-oriented purchasing function. You will be part of a forward-looking team where your ideas and initiatives make a real difference.

Examples of Responsibilities

  • Development and implementation of supplier strategies that strengthen JOAB's business
  • Negotiation of contracts and management of supplier relationships
  • Optimization of inventory and data-driven purchasing analysis
  • Ensuring correct data in the business system
  • Conducting supplier assessments
  • Order placement and delivery monitoring

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has several years of experience in purchasing and a strong drive to take responsibility and develop your area with clear ownership.
  • Has post-secondary education in purchasing, finance, logistics, or similar
  • Has the willingness to be part of developing the purchasing role within JOAB
  • Communicates clearly and builds good relationships internally and externally
  • Has good analytical skills and works in a structured manner
  • Is familiar with Jeeves or another business system
  • Has good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
