We are looking for someone who sees a future in Sweden and within Swedish healthcare but needs to complete practical training to obtain Swedish medical licensure. To provide you with the best possible conditions, we have concentrated practical training at the educational health center, HC Centrum in Sundsvall. HC Centrum is a centrally located health center in Sundsvall, a city with about 95,000 inhabitants in the heart of Sweden. Sundsvall is beautifully situated by the sea between two mountains. The educational part of the health center is part of the regular healthcare center's operations. During your practical training, you will receive regular supervision from our experienced specialist doctors.

We train 3 junior doctors at the same time. With us, you also have the opportunity for language training at the workplace with the region's language teachers.

Practical training is conducted over six months. The goal is for you to be able to apply for Swedish medical licensure through the National Board of Health and Welfare afterwards. The position is a temporary appointment where your medical knowledge and skills will be assessed. You are also welcome to apply for the position if you hold a European license and need support linguistically or professionally to enter Swedish healthcare.

Start date is according to agreement with placement in Sundsvall.

Practical training for doctors at the educational health center, Sundsvall

After an introduction, you will work as a junior doctor at the health center. The work includes patient meetings, medical history, examination, and record-keeping. Your supervisor will be present at all times. The work is done together with the supervisor throughout the practical training but with increased independence as you learn more. We hope that after the practical training, you enjoy it so much that you continue in Region Västernorrland with BT, ST, and later as a specialist.

We also accept applications for practical training in other areas within Region Västernorrland. However, we do not have fixed positions here but will consider the possibility of offering practical training as needed.

We are looking for you who

• Are a doctor with foreign education and licensure outside the EU/EEA
• Have passed the National Board of Health and Welfare's theoretical and practical knowledge tests
• Have good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing

It is an advantage if you

• Have experience of Swedish healthcare during your internship as a doctor or work as other healthcare personnel
• Have work experience within Region Västernorrland

For us, it is important that you are curious about Swedish healthcare and open to learning new things.

In your application, you should include:

1. Decision from the National Board of Health and Welfare regarding 6 months of practical training. This means you need to have been approved in both theoretical and practical knowledge tests.
2. Grades/certificates in the Swedish language equivalent to Swedish 3/Swedish as a second language 3, level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) or a course/test that qualifies for higher education studies.
3. CV.
4. Cover letter where you briefly describe who you are, how you are, and what your ambitions are for the future.
5. Attach a copy of your migration status from the Migration Agency (if you are in Sweden)

Subject to availability, we also accept applicants with education from the EU for an opportunity for an introduction to Swedish primary care for individuals who have no experience of Swedish healthcare.

Please also state in your application whether you are in Sweden or another country and whether you have a work permit or residence permit for studies from the Migration Agency.
