About Dalasinfoniettan

Dalasinfoniettan is a chamber orchestra in the heart of Dalarna where nature is as rich as culture. The orchestra consists of 28 full-time employed musicians. Dalasinfoniettan has performed with international soloists such as Janine Jansen, Evelyn Glennie, Martin Fröst, and Víkingur Ólafsson. The orchestra often collaborates with Roberto González-Monjas, Malin Broman, Tobias Ringborg, Chloé van Soeterstède, and Ariel Zuckermann. The chief conductor from 2024 is the French conductor Claire Levacher. Dalasinfoniettan is a versatile orchestra that plays folk music, jazz, and popular music alongside the classical repertoire. All musicians in the orchestra are, in addition to orchestral playing, active as chamber musicians in smaller ensembles and school concerts. Dalasinfoniettan reaches a wide audience throughout Dalarna.

Ensemble auditions may occur.

The audition will take place in Falun on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. Dalasinfoniettan will provide a pianist for the audition. The piano is tuned to 442 Hz. Expenses for the applicant will not be reimbursed.
