Tele Technician in Technical Surveillance for the Swedish Armed Forces in Luleå

As a tele technician in technical surveillance within the Armed Forces and FMTIS, you play an essential role in a successful team within an agency that is experiencing strong growth. Technical surveillance refers to the technology with security products that replace or complement manual surveillance. Common subsystems that create technical surveillance systems include:

  • Burglar alarms
  • Access control systems
  • Camera surveillance systems
  • IT security systems

Main Responsibilities

Operation and maintenance measures on parts of the Armed Forces' technical surveillance infrastructure. By operation and maintenance, we primarily mean commissioning, preventive (inspections/revisions), and corrective maintenance work of technical surveillance systems as well as ongoing system changes. The area mainly includes alarm, access, and CCTV systems with associated IT infrastructure (servers, clients, switches, routers, firewalls, etc.). The work requires careful ongoing registration, updating, and documentation in support systems. Furthermore, it includes handling and responding to inquiries in the area, providing technical support to the organization and decision-makers. You will collaborate with various units and suppliers and participate in temporarily organized workgroups or projects (e.g., during new installations).

About the Organization

FMTIS has five units that perform operation and maintenance of the Armed Forces' command systems. The Implementation Unit North is one of them. The unit has a geographical spread that primarily covers Norrland and is staffed with both military and civilian personnel. The placement will be at the Implementation Unit North, and the workplace is Luleå. The work is primarily located in Norrbotten County and Luleå, but work may occur in other parts of the country or abroad.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • High school education with an electrical/telecommunication focus or equivalent knowledge acquired in another way that the employer can assess as equivalent
  • Experience in service and maintenance of technical surveillance systems or equivalent experiences that the employer assesses as equivalent
  • Good ability to communicate in speech and writing (Swedish and English)
  • Driver's license at least B manual transmission

DESIRABLE

  • Experience in documenting telecommunication installations and/or AutoCAD
  • Experience working with mechanical and electromechanical locks
  • Obtained electrical authorization
  • Knowledge of UPS
  • Good knowledge of network technology and Windows-based systems
  • Completed military basic training
  • Familiarity with the Armed Forces' materials/equipment
  • Good physical ability with a healthy attitude towards your health
  • BE and/or C driver's license

Other

Employment type: permanent. The Armed Forces apply a six-month probationary period for those not employed by the agency. Employment rate: full-time. Workplace: Luleå. The position is civilian. Within the Armed Forces, the position is referred to as Tele Engineer. Travel within the service may occur. On-call duty within the service may occur. Start date as soon as possible or by agreement.
