The ambulance service assesses and treats patients at home, at the scene of an accident, and during transport to the hospital, and is also responsible for transports where care during transport is necessary. Ambulance Care Västerbotten performs around 33,000 missions in the region. In Åsele, we have our emergency vehicle that works with acute care in collaboration with Åsele municipality.

We are now looking for new colleagues who want to work with us and be a part of Västerbotten's Ambulance Care - Are you the one we are looking for?

All our new colleagues in Ambulance Care Västerbotten undergo our introductory training so you gain good insight, understanding, and basic security in your role within ambulance care. Areas you will be involved in during the introductory training include Alarm to Hand-off, Work Environment, Systematic Care, Treatment Guidelines, Triage, CPR, Radio Communication, Traffic and Vehicles, Medical Leader and Medical Responsibility, Weather and Terrain, Pregnancy and Delivery.

The position is a permanent employment in Region Västerbotten. Start date according to agreement.

Based on your qualifications as a nurse and in dialogue with responsible managers, there is an opportunity for rotation to other levels of care at Lycksele Hospital or the possibility to work part of the assignment at other ambulance stations in Southern Lapland.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a nurse with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that makes people feel safe.

As a nurse in the ambulance, you meet patients of all ages who have suffered from acute illness or injury or who need care during transport. You assess and treat patients at home, at the scene of an accident, and during transport to healthcare facilities. The job is about making a difference for others and showing humility while maintaining calm in demanding situations.

In the ambulance, you work in teams consisting of nurse-nursing assistant or nurse-nurse. Our nurses have the medical responsibility. You and your colleague also have the ultimate responsibility to check at the beginning of each shift and throughout the shift that the ambulance has the correct equipment so you can perform your tasks in a patient-safe manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse. It is advantageous if you have specialist training in ambulance care or other specializations that we consider valuable for the organization. Professional experience in emergency care is also an advantage.

You have a B driver's license and good driving experience. You master Swedish in both speech and writing.

Working in ambulance care can be physically demanding, so we require physical endurance. As part of the recruitment process, you will undergo a fitness test and driving test.
