Falu Energi & Vatten is a municipal energy company at the forefront of working with sustainability issues and future infrastructure. In the coming years, we will, among other things, develop our recycling operations and build a new treatment plant.

Work as an Energy and Environmental Engineer

In the role of energy and environmental engineer, you will work with several parts of our community-beneficial operations. You will, among other things, handle environmental issues and reporting to authorities related to electricity production, district heating, and recycling, with a primary focus on the first two areas. As an energy and environmental engineer, you are an important support for our production operations in their efforts to conduct business responsibly from an environmental and sustainability perspective. You will also be responsible for the company's annual sustainability report.

In this role, you will belong to the Development Department and the Sustainability & Projects group. Your colleagues work with everything from environmental support to conducting feasibility studies and projects within construction, sustainability, and digitization. The group has extensive experience and good drive where we help each other in our daily work. Your new colleagues will provide you with good support when needed.

Your tasks include, for example:

• Monitoring environmental legislation, e.g., self-monitoring through emission measurements
• Contacts with authorities, e.g., environmental permits and notifications of changes
• Reporting to various authorities and industry organizations, e.g., Energy Companies, the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency, County Administrative Board, the Energy Markets Inspectorate, and Statistics Sweden.

Your Profile

To thrive in the role of energy and environmental engineer, we see that you are solution-oriented, curious, and structured. You have a strong drive and find it easy to communicate. You enjoy creating contacts and collaborating with different groups – both internally within the organization and externally with authorities and partners. Working closely with operations and being on-site in production is a natural part of the role for you.

You who apply have:

• A university degree at the bachelor's level with a focus on, for example, energy technology, environmental technology, mechanical engineering, or other equivalent education
• Several years of work experience, preferably within district heating operations or process industry
• Experience with BI tools and report generation
• Good IT/system skills and experience in sourcing and quality assuring data from databases and various production-related IT systems
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
• Driving license B

You will also benefit from having practical experience with environmental legislation and authority contacts, especially related to electricity production and district heating. An interest in sustainability issues and some experience in business development or project management is an advantage.
