The deteriorating security political development in Sweden's vicinity underscores the need for a strong total defense and enhanced crisis management capability. An important part of this work is to prioritize and strengthen civil defense. Therefore, we are looking for a strategic, goal-oriented, and committed person who wants to help develop the municipality's civil defense work.

The Municipal Executive Administration supports three committees: the Municipal Executive Board, the Building and Environmental Committee, and the Community Building Committee. The administration employs about 135 staff and is divided into areas of staff, building and environment, and community building and growth.

Your place in the organization will be in the risk and crisis unit, within the staff area, together with colleagues who are passionate about safety work just like you!

A Day as a Safety Coordinator in Krokom Municipality

In the role of safety coordinator, you will provide advice and support on various types of safety and preparedness issues to all activities within the Department of Children and Education, as well as to elected representatives. You will be responsible for developing governing documents across the administration, revising existing guidelines/procedures, and training managers and employees in various areas of safety and crisis preparedness.

Other areas of work that also occur in the position include crisis preparedness, incident reporting, investigations, and analyses.

You will also work on crime prevention issues and collaboration within crime prevention activities.

In this position, you will work in a team with the municipality's other safety coordinators. In your collaboration with both internal and external actors, you will focus on promoting safety and security for our citizens.

Your Competence

We are looking for someone with a relevant post-secondary education in the field, such as military training or other education in risk and crisis management.

We prefer that you have good knowledge of municipal operations and its organization.

Experience with various types of alarm solutions and perimeter security is an advantage. Experience in planning civil defense is also a merit.

You have a good ability to see the whole picture, coordinate, and prioritize. You can create good relationships both internally and externally, lead projects, and you have no problem being proactive in your matters.

Additionally, it is important that you express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish.

As a person, you are structured, clear, and development-oriented. You have a pronounced service mindset, are responsible, flexible, and used to working independently and can carry out assignments within established time frames.

A driving license (B) is a requirement for the position.

Other Information

Permanent full-time employment with start date according to agreement.

The application deadline is 2026-01-18.

Before the position, a security screening will be conducted according to the Security Protection Act with a background check and interview. Employment is conditional on a successful security screening.
