The Training Unit

The Training Unit at the Swedish Armed Forces Intelligence and Security Centre (FMUndSäkC) conducts joint Armed Forces training in, and development of, intelligence and security services from combat technical up to operational level. Conducting courses and training is a natural part of the operations, as well as participating in exercises and development projects. Collaboration takes place with all parts of the Armed Forces as well as with other authorities.

The unit consists of the Security Forces Department, Intelligence Department, Security Department, Image Intelligence Department, and Method Support Department.

The current position is located at the Security Department, whose task is to train military and civilian personnel in security services for positions such as Security Manager, IT Security Manager, or Security Officer at all levels within the entire Armed Forces. We strive for a non-prestigious and enjoyable work environment where everyone is involved and contributes to the department's results and development. The department has close cooperation with regional staffs, the Headquarters, and MUST.

Main Responsibilities

  • Be part of the unit's management group
  • Act as manager and employer representative at the Security Department
  • Responsible for finance, personnel, and operational management at the Security Department
  • Responsible for training in security services within the Armed Forces
  • Support the development unit in developing our courses

Additional Tasks

  • Support MUST in developing regulations, etc.
  • Participate in the development of new training in the area of security services

Qualifications

  • Academic degree in a relevant field for the position, such as security services, leadership and management, or HR
  • Experience in leading personnel
  • Good knowledge of the Office suite
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
  • Driving license B (manual)

Personal Qualities

We are looking for someone with good collaboration skills but who can also work independently. Furthermore, flexibility and stress resistance are highly valued. You should be proactive and have a trust-based and developmental leadership within the framework of mission tactics.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience working in security services
  • Training in security services
  • National experience in staff functions
  • Previous service in a security manager/IT security manager position at central level, regional staff, or organizational unit or brigade

Employment type: Permanent. The Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those who are not employed by the authority.

Regular working hours are office hours 07.30-16.00 with flexible hours. Travel in service may occur. Armed Forces duty may occur.

The center is joint Armed Forces and was established in 1998 when the Air Force's and Army's intelligence schools and the Defense's interpreter school were merged into Uppsala garrison.
