Unit Manager for the Unit of Energy, Climate and Regional Growth

About the Unit

The unit consists of 10 employees and a unit manager. Our expertise should be in demand both locally, regionally, and nationally. You will encounter a wide range of issues. The County Administrative Board is the highest civilian total defense authority in the county.

Your Responsibilities

As a unit manager, you lead engaged, knowledgeable, and creative experts working in areas such as environmental and sustainability issues, energy, climate, and regional growth. You are responsible for the unit's economy, personnel, and operations.

Through trust-based leadership, your task is to develop the operations and your employees in a way that promotes a good working environment. You adapt your leadership according to situations that arise and the needs of the operations. In your role as unit manager, you maintain good dialogue and show understanding that the unit works with many varying assignments. You lead and drive the operations according to the County Administrative Board's direction, policies, and routines and are responsible for ensuring that the unit's work is performed with good quality and efficiently.

The work involves close collaboration with county management, department heads, unit managers, and employees. Together with your managerial colleagues in the management group for the Department of People and Society, you also contribute to the strategic work of developing the entire department's area of operations.

Requirements for the Position:

  • You must have relevant academic education.
  • Experience in coordinating assignments and leading processes.
  • You must have experience in leading others.
  • You must be able to deliver good results according to set goals.
  • You must have experience in collaboration and coordination with various types of external actors to achieve your operational goals.

Meritorious:

  • If you have experience from a government authority at local, regional, or national level.
  • If you have worked strategically with environmental and sustainability issues.
  • If you have worked with regional growth.
  • If you have worked with EU project applications.

As a Person:

  • You are proactive, taking initiative, starting activities, and achieving results.
  • You are structured, planning, organizing, and prioritizing work effectively. You set and adhere to deadlines.
  • You are stable, remaining calm and controlled in stressful or pressured situations. You maintain a realistic perspective on situations and focus on the right things.
  • You are skilled in leadership, leading, motivating, and empowering others to effectively achieve common goals. You coordinate groups and become a reference point for others, creating engagement and participation.
  • You are strategic, thinking strategically and having a broad perspective on issues. You see the long-term significance and further consequences of matters and adjust your actions accordingly.

The Employment

This is a permanent full-time position that begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date by agreement.
