Björkvall School
Björkvall School is a pleasant grades 6-9 school close to nature, located in Björklinge, Uppsala municipality. The kitchen is a newly renovated production kitchen, where approximately 500 meals are prepared by a team of 3 people. The kitchen is part of a kitchen management unit with several school and preschool kitchens in the Björklinge/Bälinge/Börje and Jumkil area. Collaboration between kitchens is a given, and joint meetings and gatherings are also held. Working hours are during the day, Monday to Friday.
Job Description
The work includes preparing and serving breakfast and lunch, cleaning and disinfecting utensils, machines, and surfaces, as well as cooking and baking from scratch as much as possible. It also includes developing the serving offerings and allergy diets, as well as performing self-checks in accordance with applicable legislation. Other tasks included in the role: handling dishes, managing daily cleaning routines, placing orders, managing special diets, working with HACCP, receiving deliveries, inventory.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a chef's education and several years of experience working as a chef. The job requires good knowledge of special diets and preparation of special meals. We also expect you to have good knowledge of food hygiene and good oral and written skills in Swedish.
If you have computer skills, a B driver's license, and knowledge of meal planning systems such as Mashie or Mateo, this is considered an advantage. It is also beneficial if you have knowledge of food ordering.
You are a person who quickly adapts to changing circumstances and sees opportunities in changes. You find it easy to change both perspectives and approaches when the situation requires it. At the same time, you collaborate well with others, are attentive, and flexible in your way of relating to people. You communicate clearly, listen actively, and handle conflicts constructively. Additionally, you plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively, set clear goals, and meet deadlines. You contribute ideas and new approaches that are implemented in practice and lead to results.
