We are now looking for experienced and proactive technical writers for consulting assignments with our clients. The role is suitable for those with a strong interest in technology, good linguistic precision, and a desire to be a key person in creating clear, accurate, and user-friendly technical documentation for advanced products and systems.
About the role
In this role, you will produce, update, and quality assure technical documentation for complex products and systems. The work requires both technical competence and the ability to express oneself clearly and structured.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Creating, updating, and quality assuring maintenance and repair instructions, manuals, troubleshooting guides, test instructions, and software documentation.
- Developing manuals, instruction books, and training materials for applications in the defense sector.
- Working according to standards such as S1000D, iSpec 2200, Simplified Technical English (STE), and managing documentation in XML, SGML, and CMS environments (e.g., Uptime 4).
- Collaborating with technical specialists to understand products and transform complex information into clear and user-friendly documentation.
- Contributing to the development and improvement of documentation structure, terminology, and usability.
- Driving your work independently and actively seeking information when needed.
Requirements
Must-have:
- Experience as a technical writer (level 3–4) or equivalent technical role in electrical, electronics, defense, engineering, or related fields.
- Relevant education in electrical, electronics, engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience with standards such as STE, S1000D, iSpec 2200, and working in XML/SGML-based systems.
- Experience in producing instructions for maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, or use of technical systems.
- Excellent command of Swedish and good command of English, both spoken and written.
- Ability to understand complex technology and translate it into clear and target audience-adapted text.
- Good collaboration skills and experience working independently and taking initiative.
Preferred:
- Experience from the defense industry or documentation for advanced technical products.
- Experience in creating comprehensive instruction books and training materials.
Other:
For certain assignments, a background check (RK) is required before starting.
Assignments may be hybrid or onsite depending on location and client requirements.
