Vöfab is looking for a project manager who wants to make a difference. The Education Committee in Växjö Municipality has decided to invest in schoolyards – a comprehensive and meaningful task to develop outdoor environments for children and youth.

To meet the increased demands and ensure that we deliver as expected, we are now seeking a project manager focused on earthworks and outdoor environments. The position is a SÄVA assignment for 6 months.

About the role

You will play a key role in planning, designing, and procuring projects related to schoolyards and traffic solutions. The focus is on preparing documentation for the 2026 investments in close collaboration with the Education Administration, as well as procuring projects within outdoor environments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Your tasks:

  • Lead projects related to schoolyards, earthworks, and traffic solutions.
  • Prepare tender documents and procure contracts.
  • Collaborate with the Education Administration, consultants, and contractors.
  • Ensure that projects adhere to budget, timelines, and quality requirements.
  • Contribute expertise in outdoor environments and land issues to other projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience leading design work in construction, land, or outdoor environments, preferably focusing on public outdoor spaces such as schoolyards and preschools.
  • The ability to listen to the needs and wishes of various organizations and stakeholders, and translate these into thoughtful solutions that support overarching goals such as PEP Kommun, the child perspective, curriculum guidelines, and sustainability ambitions.
  • Specialist competence in outdoor environments and land issues, with the ability to produce documentation that balances educational needs, safety aspects, and physical activity with budget constraints and technical requirements.
  • Relevant education, e.g., construction engineer, landscape engineer, or equivalent.
  • The ability to work systematically, listen, take initiative, and make decisions.
  • Good collaboration skills and experience working with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Driver's license (B).
