Your Role

As a mechanic at Saab Kockums Muskö, your primary responsibilities will be focused on service, maintenance, and repairs of mechanical installations on the navy's surface vessels. The role includes troubleshooting and maintenance of ships with a high technical level and complexity. The work is varied and provides good opportunities to develop your craftsmanship and professional skills.

Examples of work areas include:

• Hydraulics
• Valve and pump maintenance
• Axle pulling
• Rudder assembly
• Pressure testing

The work is performed both onboard ships and in the workshop. Domestic travel may occur.

Your Profile

To apply for the role, you need to have:

• High school education in workshop technology or equivalent
• Driver's license B
• Good computer skills

The job requires you to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English.

It is advantageous if you have experience in:

• Material processing including drilling, turning, and milling
• Threading and flange connections
• Measurement technology and laser alignment of machine setups
• Work with pumps and valves
• Heavy industrial type drivetrains
• Hydraulic systems
• Crane, forklift, and mobile platform work
• Heavy lifting work, e.g., hoists

To succeed in the role, we prefer that you are a person who works in a structured and orderly manner and has a positive attitude with a strong interest in technology. Valued qualities include teamwork, professionalism, and a strong drive.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable security protection regulations. For positions where Saab has security classification requirements, this may entail requirements for certain citizenship.
