Investigation Technician for the VA Department
We are now looking for you who want to help us make a difference for those we serve! Växjö Municipality is Kronoberg's largest employer, working every day, year-round, for our residents, businesses, and visitors. Together, we create a sustainable tomorrow and an attractive municipality to live, work, and thrive in – today and in the future. This means a job where we challenge ourselves to think innovatively, learn, and develop with each other. Do you want to be part of a larger context where you can truly make a difference? Welcome to us at Växjö Municipality!
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The VA Department within the Community Building Administration supplies urban areas with drinking water, manages and purifies stormwater and wastewater, and produces biogas. The department actively works to develop and improve operations to meet future challenges with a long-term sustainable and secure VA supply in our growing municipality. The VA Department currently consists of about 70 employees, and you will be part of the Pipeline Unit, which is responsible for pipeline networks and stormwater facilities. As an investigation technician, you will work on investigations of the VA pipeline network.
Job Duties
The work consists of performing both planned and urgent investigations and surveys regarding the functionality and status of the pipeline network. You will be a resource for both operation and maintenance of the existing networks as well as for planning and construction of new networks in our municipality. The position involves both office work and fieldwork. You will spend a lot of time in the field, so you must enjoy practical work and be able to easily solve the needs and problems that arise. You will work in pairs with another investigation technician and must enjoy working in a team. The investigation group has modern equipment, and you need to be open to developing work methods and systems for data collection and knowledge about the pipeline networks. We have our own film bus for measuring and filming in the pipeline networks.
The investigation group is a small team where the work is characterized by innovative thinking and a forward-looking attitude. We expect you to take personal responsibility for planning and developing the work going forward.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with VA technical knowledge, preferably with familiarity and experience with underground water and sewage pipeline networks. Experience from inspection work such as TV inspection of VA pipes is an advantage.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities. As a person, you are proactive and think one step ahead. You can work in a systematic and careful manner and make assessments and draw conclusions from collected material. You find it easy to create contacts and relationships that contribute to good collaboration. You are accustomed to and enjoy using digital tools for information retrieval and reporting, among other things. You are skilled at planning and structuring your work while being flexible and adaptable when circumstances change.
A B driver's license is required. A C driver's license is an advantage.
