Västernorrland is one of five regions in the country that, on behalf of the National Board of Health and Welfare, provides national highly specialized care (NHV) for severe eating disorders. We offer high-intensity treatment for individuals over 18 years old, based on many years of experience in eating disorder care.

The purpose of concentrating this care is to enable the provider to maintain competence within the entire multidisciplinary team and to develop and maintain good quality of care without limiting accessibility. NHV has close collaboration with other operations within the regional psychiatric services in Västernorrland County.

We are now looking for nurses who want to be part of NHV in Sundsvall for the summer of 2026. The positions are full-time temporary contracts starting from 2026-06-01 until 2026-08-31.

Nurse Highly Specialized Care Eating Disorders, Sundsvall Summer 2026

As a nurse, you will participate in a team that offers eating disorder treatment to individuals suffering from severe eating disorders. The treatment is multifaceted and includes:

• environmental therapy
• somatic care
• group therapy
• administering medication
• support during meal situations for patients and dialogue with patients and relatives about care.

Additionally, you will establish care planning together with the team. Knowledge development is important in the operation. We collaborate with other NHV units. You will be offered regular supervision. Opportunities for further education and research are available, and research interests aimed at improving care for individuals with eating disorders are particularly welcomed. The position involves working uncomfortable hours such as evenings, nights, and weekends.

We are looking for someone who

• is a licensed nurse
• has several years of experience in nursing
• has good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form

It is an advantage for the position if you

• have further education in psychiatry
• have work experience in psychiatry
