Department Head for Transport

Logistics creates conditions for the region's operations through robust supply of goods and customer-adapted care-related services. A total of about 60 people work to create efficient flows to operations throughout the region. The operation is responsible for transport and supply flows that are important parts of ensuring quality care.

The logistics operation consists of three departments: patient transport and storage service, hospital transport, and transport. We are in a process of change where increased demands for robustness and freed-up care time require changes in working methods and digitization. Together, we create an efficient and customer-oriented operation with high competence and great commitment.

We are now looking for a department head for transport who wants to contribute to our common journey towards set goals. The department faces exciting challenges with new assignments and digitization of various parts of the supply chain. Transport currently consists of 27 employees based in the Sigfrids area in Växjö, performing various transport assignments throughout the county. We are responsible for external transport of, for example, samples, storage materials, textiles, and pharmaceuticals, and we manage the region's car pool. The department also manages external environments and coordinates the region's work with furniture reuse.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In your role as department head, you have personnel, work environment, and financial responsibility for the department. You have an independent and overarching responsibility to lead, develop, and follow up. To succeed as a department head in transport, you should enjoy working closely with your employees and engage and motivate them both in daily work and in development projects.

Within logistics, we actively work on developing our services and continuously improving to free up time for care personnel and become more cost-effective. The assignment is continuously growing, and we have several ongoing and planned projects aimed at creating value for the region. An important part of the role is therefore to contribute to various development projects together with the logistics management group and other stakeholders. We believe you have the ability to develop and optimize processes and structures, as well as follow up on completed efforts, analyze customer needs, and adapt the operation to current and future challenges and needs.

You report to the operations manager and will together with them and your fellow department heads and business developers form the logistics management group.

QUALIFICATIONS

To succeed in the role of department head, you need to be confident as a leader and be a good problem solver. We see that you are a person who possesses good self-awareness, is attentive to your surroundings, and has an easy time building trusting relationships. You are a role model in daily work and promote a culture that supports Region Kronoberg's values; respect for the individual.

It is also important that you have the ability to clarify goals and vision, purpose, and expectations to create engagement, participation, and a common understanding that drives the operation forward. By acting consistently and showing trust in employees, you create engagement, innovation, and creativity.

You have preferably worked within logistics flows and supply chains, for example, with materials and transport. You have experience in management work with personnel responsibility and have successfully driven change efforts. Relevant education in logistics or economics is an advantage.
