About the Job

Seriefrämjandet is a non-profit association and center as well as Sweden's organization for the art form of comics. Seriefrämjandet works to spread knowledge about the unique nature of comic art and develop Swedish comic culture. The association has done this through the cultural magazine Bild & Bubbla, festivals and events, international cultural exchanges, and much more. Seriefrämjandet targets children, youth, and adults – from the curious reader to the professional practitioner.

We are an association in change. Our recent activities in the Västra Götaland region have included the Comic and Fantasy Scene at the Gothenburg Book Fair and the Seriefest festival in the West. All of this has shown a clear place and a need to elevate the art form of comics even more within VGR.

We are now looking for a project manager for our activities in the Västra Götaland region (VGR).

Responsibilities:

You will have overall responsibility for Seriefrämjandet's activities in VGR: budget, applications, reports, follow-ups, and projects.

You will work within the Microsoft 365 suite and Adobe. You will report to the operations manager, prepare materials for, and lead the implementation of operational and action plans. You will maintain contact with our partner organizations within VGR, which includes Sensus, Svenska Tecknare, Illustratörcentrum, etc., with whom we want to continue collaborating. We have a sustainability plan developed previously that you will integrate and develop with us continuously.

You will also collaborate with our existing projects and project managers within VGR as you are part of our growing operations in VGR. You will have recurring exchanges and support each other.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who wants to use their existing network within the municipality and region. We seek someone who wants to elevate the art form of comics in general within the region and expand the audience for the comic medium. It is important that you care about long-term goals and sustainability.

It is advantageous if you have relevant academic or artistic education, or have acquired equivalent knowledge in other ways. You have good knowledge in our field. You have strong administrative skills and express yourself well in speech and writing. You have previous experience with budgeting and operational planning. We would like you to have knowledge of/experience in leading groups.

It is important that you have good social skills, are unpretentious, and can delegate tasks. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability, drive, and willingness to network and collaborate with other organizations in the region.

Employment Type

Fixed-term employment 20% for one year with a chance of extension. Working hours vary, as part of the operations is event-based.

Work Location

You need to reside within the Västra Götaland region. It is important that you have the ability to travel to or live in Gothenburg. Traveling is part of the job.

The association's office is located in Malmö but you will work in VGR.

Start Date

January 2026. You will take over the work from the previous project manager who will provide you with an introduction to previous activities.

Salary

Seriefrämjandet applies individual salary setting. You will receive a fixed monthly salary.
