The Mark Workshop performs maintenance on the Armed Forces' ground equipment, air base equipment & provides technical system support. This includes maintenance in the form of supervision, repairs, manufacturing, disassembly/scrapping, modifications, operational support, technical adaptation & material investigation. The Mark Workshop unit delivers services according to customer requirements.

Mark Workshop Uppland is a department within the Mark Workshop unit (MvE) that currently belongs to the Armed Forces Technical School. From 1/1 2026, MvE will be transferred to the Army Staff. You will belong to Enköping, a part of Mark Workshop Uppland that operates in Uppsala & Enköping. Together we are about 40 employees. We are in an expansive phase - do you want to join us & grow?

Main Tasks

You will primarily work with maintenance, repair & troubleshooting of vehicles, machines & equipment used within the Armed Forces, such as wheeled vehicles, wheel loaders, trucks, tracked vehicles, masts, containers & generators. The work involves both preventive and corrective maintenance as well as modification & reconstruction based on established guidelines.

Requirements

  • We are looking for someone who has at least completed & finished a two- or three-year high school with a focus on automotive technology or equivalent, alternatively skills acquired through professional experience that the employer assesses as equivalent
  • Previous relevant experience as a mechanic
  • Computer skills, we work with digital platforms
  • Good knowledge of technology & troubleshooting
  • Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing
  • Driving license B

Meritorious

  • Previous experience working with vehicle electronics & hydraulics in similar areas
  • Experience in mechanical work
  • Refrigeration certification
  • Experience & knowledge of masts, generators & vehicle electronics
  • C or CE driving license
  • Forklift/wheel loader training
  • Travel training
  • Experience and knowledge of workshop operations & material maintenance in the Armed Forces

Employment form: permanent employment starting with a 6-month probationary period
Employment degree: full-time, daytime - shift work may be applied

Start date: As soon as agreed

The job also requires travel & service, both domestically and internationally. The position is a civilian position.

Work with thermosetting plastics occurs in the workshop & requires health checks.
