Welcome to Bromma – Sweden's probably nicest parish!
The parish is in the midst of an exciting development journey with a new parish house in Ängby and a growing operation. Bromma Parish is now looking for a custodian with administrative duties who can be part of supporting this growth and development.
About the Position:
As a custodian with administrative duties, you will:
- Perform practical tasks in the church and parish house, such as preparations for services, holidays, and concerts, care and maintenance of church spaces and furnishings, cleaning, and basic property management.
- Maintain and care for green areas and outdoor environments with machinery and tools year-round.
Furthermore, you will:
- Administer scheduling of activities and room bookings for the parish's events.
- Administer bookings for funerals, baptisms, and weddings.
- Maintain ongoing contact with external parties such as other parishes, funeral homes, and companies.
- Contribute to creating a warm and welcoming environment for all visitors.
Evening and weekend work may occur. The work is based in our newly built premises at Ängby Church by Islandstorget.
Full-time. Start date is earliest 2026-01-01 (or by agreement).
Who are you?
You share the values of the Church of Sweden and are interested in its entire operation. As a person, you are unpretentious and have a solution-oriented approach. You are flexible and good at collaborating. You need to be confident in your role as a custodian and administrator to take your own initiatives and drive the work forward. You have a driver's license.
We are looking for someone who, through education and/or proven experience, has:
- Good organizational skills and can handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Technical understanding to manage simple repairs, lighting, and sound systems.
- Understanding of building preservation – basic knowledge of maintaining older buildings and culturally historical environments.
- Knowledge and interest in gardening and land management – care of outdoor environments, green areas, and plantings.
- Safety awareness – checking fire equipment, locks, alarms, and work environment.
Above all, we are looking for someone who is confident in meeting people in various life situations and has a compassionate, clear, and correct expression – both in speech and writing. You have experience in administrative tasks, preferably in bookings or scheduling, and have very good computer skills.
