About us

Clinical microbiology at Sahlgrenska University Hospital is one of Sweden's leading operations in microbiological diagnostics.

We have about 260 employees and are responsible for diagnosing infections caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites. Our mission also includes teaching, information initiatives, as well as research and development. The operation in Gothenburg is organized into three diagnostic units. The current position is located at the serology unit, which consists of about 25 employees divided into three sections.

Job responsibilities

In your role, you will participate in the daily diagnostic work in the laboratory, which includes:

• Analysis determination and instrument handling.
• Manual laboratory work.
• Assessment and reporting of analysis results.

We use serological methods such as ELISA, immunofluorescence (IF), and chemiluminescence (CLIA), ranging from manual analyses to high-tech robots. At the serology unit, you will be offered a dynamic workplace with great opportunities for development, including responsibility for your own areas. Quality work, student supervision, development work, and communication with healthcare are also important parts of the position.

About you

We are looking for a licensed biomedical analyst with a strong interest in clinical microbiology. You express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing. Experience working in a clinical microbiological laboratory and knowledge in serology is an advantage. If you also have experience in quality or development work, it is a significant benefit.
