Police Area Halland

The Police Area Halland includes six municipalities and is organized into four local police areas; Halmstad, Falkenberg, Varberg, and Kungsbacka. The investigative activities at the police area level are organized into an investigative section. At the police area level, there is an area office.

LPO Halmstad

The Local Police Area Halmstad is part of the Police Area Halland. Within the local police area, there are intervention and crime prevention activities, investigative groups, as well as support and service. The local police area operates in the municipalities of Halmstad and Laholm, which is the geographical area of responsibility.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a community police officer, your main task is to drive crime prevention and safety-creating work in collaboration primarily with Halmstad municipality and the rest of society. The municipality currently has just over 106,000 inhabitants. Your task may also involve supporting the community police officer in Laholm, which is why you need to have insight into Laholm municipality's work, which today has just over 26,500 inhabitants.

As a community police officer, you represent the Police Authority and ensure that the Police Authority can respond to the commitments made in collaboration agreements and citizen promises.

Your main task is the strategic crime prevention work, which must be conducted based on knowledge-based methods. The assignment involves adapting the working methods according to the local situational pictures that exist in the local police area. You should have the ability to independently make decisions within the framework of your assignment and take responsibility for and develop your own operations in relation to the whole.

In addition to daily collaboration with municipalities, other authorities, local communities, and the private sector, your role will also include participating in and driving various collaboration projects. As a community police officer, you work to increase society's trust in the police. You have close cooperation with the LPO manager, deputy LPO manager, group leaders, coordinators, and are part of the local police area's management team.

QUALIFICATIONS

This is an opportunity for you who have:

  • Police degree, in accordance with the Police Ordinance (2014:1104)
  • Several years of experience working as a police officer
  • Knowledge of local crime prevention and safety-creating work
  • Ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing

It is an advantage if you also have:

  • Knowledge of and experience working based on the regional and/or local problem pictures in region West
  • Broad police background that the employer assesses as relevant for the position
  • Experience of taking overall responsibility for assignments, both regarding ongoing operations and their results
  • Experience of collaboration with municipalities and local communities
  • Experience of driving projects

Personal qualities

As a community police officer, you are expected to have a service-oriented approach as well as an ability to get others to want to contribute to common goals. Your ability to collaborate and create trusting relationships is of utmost importance for succeeding in the assignment.

Since the work involves many contact points, you need to be communicative both internally and externally and have the ability to convey and create understanding of the Police Authority's work based on local situational pictures and crime. You feel comfortable presenting material in front of a group and being a representative of the local police area in the media.

We are looking for someone who takes responsibility for and develops their own operations in relation to the whole. You are expected to take your own initiatives, based on the objectives that underpin the local police area's operations, and structure your work well. To be successful in the role, you also need to have the ability to work both strategically and operationally and be able to switch between these perspectives.

We will place great emphasis on personal qualities.
