Our business area Heat is Uddevalla Energi's largest business area. We produce and distribute heat, cooling, electricity, produce pellets, treat waste, and provide energy and contracting services to households and businesses mainly within the Uddevalla municipality.

We are now looking for an engaged environmental engineer who wants to help further develop a future-proof energy system. You will be a key person in our organization where you will work on sustainable and circular solutions.

Your main responsibilities

  • Drive and develop our environmental work by being responsible for the environmental management systems ISO 14001 and ISO 9001, participate in the development of policies and environmental goals, and ensure that instructions and routines in your area are up to date.
  • Systematically work with reporting within the environment, permit issues, and contact with authorities.
  • Support and set requirements for the organization in environmental and quality matters.
  • Educate our employees on current environmental issues and coordinate internal environmental forums.
  • Participate in projects and development activities.
  • Monitor the external environment and ensure that we meet current and future environmental requirements.
  • Participate in the development of environmental requirements in procurement.
  • Conduct and follow up internal audits and external inspections.
  • Work closely with our Sustainability Strategist on issues such as climate calculations and sustainability reporting.

Qualifications

  • Relevant university degree with a focus on environment/technology
  • Knowledge and experience of environmental legislation and authority issues in the environmental field.
  • You should have good experience in root cause investigations and risk analyses.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
  • Good computer skills.
  • At least 3 but preferably 5 years of work experience in the field.
  • A valid driver's license (B) is required for the position.

Meritorious

It is an advantage if you have previously been responsible for environmental management systems, have experience in environmental work within the industrial or energy sector, and experience working with authorities.

Scope: Permanent employment with work on weekdays.

The position is located in Lillesjö in Uddevalla, where you will report to Therese Olsson, head of technical support.
