Correctional Services is hiring an Intelligence Operator

Correctional Services is growing – we are building new, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, detention centers, and client transports.

The Southern Norrland Probation Service covers the counties of Dalarna, Gävleborg, and Jämtland and has staffed offices in Östersund, Hudiksvall, Gävle, and Falun. The Probation Service conducts personal investigations and supervises clients who are conditionally released, under probation, or sentenced to community service or monitored with the help of electronic tags/intensive supervision. The Probation Service also works with various treatment programs. Approximately 130 employees and nine managers work within the Southern Norrland Probation Service to reduce clients' recidivism and thereby increase safety in society.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In the current position as an intelligence operator, the main tasks involve working within the intelligence cycle to improve the assessment of clients from a risk and security perspective and to support the security work within Correctional Services. You will be responsible for intelligence work within the Southern Norrland Probation Service and support parts of other probation offices, detention centers, and prisons in the Northern Region. The work involves travel, primarily within the operational area.

Your tasks include contributing to the integration of intelligence work into the organization, so that it develops local security efforts and enhances the quality of client work. You need to be able to work with your own area of responsibility while also contributing to the overall workplace and fostering good collaboration. For this, you need to have good communicative and social skills. The work also includes external collaboration with other authorities. You will work with both locally and regionally and centrally formulated assignments. You are expected to actively and independently produce intelligence reports, meet the local needs for operational intelligence activities, and support the central intelligence function. You will have a specific task to develop the intelligence work in probation.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with strong analytical skills and an interest and commitment to information security as well as security and intelligence issues. You are self-driven and work persistently to achieve desired results, and your decisions are based on accurate assessments. You have good collaboration skills and understand the importance of good professional relationships in all contexts. You always act with the organization's best interests in mind. Having good communication skills and successfully establishing relationships across office boundaries is central to this role.

You are aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. We place great emphasis on personal qualities.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Completed upper secondary school education in the form of a diploma or high school degree.
• Relevant multi-year work experience.
• Very good ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish.
• Good computer skills and IT knowledge.
• Driver's license class B.

It is advantageous if you have:

• Relevant university education, preferably in political science, behavioral science, law, or pedagogy.
• Training in intelligence operations.
• Well-documented service within an intelligence function.
• Experience from Correctional Services or another part of the justice system.
• Experience of internal and external collaboration and good knowledge of the missions of cooperating authorities.
• Particularly advantageous is experience working with relational databases.
• Good knowledge of the English language.
• Other language skills.
