Summer Interns as Firefighters Wanted at Brandkåren Norra Dalarna

About the Position

You will be an important part of our emergency response team and work with:

• Handling alarms and executing emergency responses
• Participating in drills and training
• Maintaining and caring for materials and equipment
• Performing other tasks within the organization

Qualifications (Requirements)

• Ongoing education in Protection Against Accidents (SMO) and approved for smoke and chemical diving
• Driving license category B
• Approved medical examination according to law for smoke and chemical diving

Meritorious

• Experience from municipal rescue services
• Completed SMO training or older equivalent
• Driving license category C

Recruitment Process

Employment tests will be conducted and will consist of:

• High altitude test
• Claustrophobia test
• Work-related tasks
• Digital skills

Interviews and, if necessary, personality tests will also be held in conjunction with the tests.

Brandkåren Norra Dalarna

Brandkåren Norra Dalarna is a municipal federation for the municipalities of Leksand, Mora, Orsa, Vansbro, and Älvdalen's operational rescue service responsibility and fire prevention work to protect lives, property, and the environment. The purpose is to meet the requirements and intentions of the Act (2003:778) on protection against accidents and to create good conditions for sustainable work with safety and security in a complex society, strengthen management capabilities, and increase overall competence.

The federation includes 7 fire stations and 6 fire brigades within the five member municipalities and has about 40 full-time employees and about 200 part-time employees.

Brandkåren Norra Dalarna's mission aims to continuously reduce the number of people injured or killed in accidents as well as to prevent fires and other accidents that may cause damage to property and the environment.

We are part of the Rescue Region Bergslagen (RRB), which is a collaboration where 42 municipalities jointly conduct management of operational efforts.
