The automation field is growing rapidly, and Vattenfall Eldistribution is installing more and more automation in the electricity grid. In addition to the reinvestment needs of outdated equipment, there are strong drivers through increased demands for fewer and shorter power outages and enablers for further digitalization. The OT & Automation group is responsible for the operation and management of automation equipment, such as RTUs, HMIs, and switches, throughout their lifecycle and actively works as a technical requirement setter in investment projects.
As a Systems Specialist in the OT & Automation group, you will work in the intersection between IT and electrical power/control systems. You will collaborate with our investment projects to guide the design of communication and remote control solutions for new transformer stations in Sweden. You will also participate in the management of automation equipment in our electricity grid.
Examples of tasks:
- Participate and represent the group in investment projects for the construction of transformer stations by acting as a requirement setter for communication and remote control solutions.
- Management work and lifecycle management for automation equipment.
- Testing and development work of automation functions and technical solutions.
- Requirement setting and review of technical solutions during procurement against material suppliers.
- Collaborate with development departments both internally and externally to develop new technical solutions.
- Further develop our management process and collaborate with other departments.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a post-secondary education, preferably at the engineering level with a focus on automation, electrical/telecommunications, data communication and networks, IT/OT. For example, Electrical Engineer, Automation Engineer, Computer Engineering or equivalent knowledge through previous experience.
- Is fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
- Has a B driver's license.
It is advantageous if you:
- Have knowledge and experience from working with remote terminal units (RTUs), HMIs, PLC programming, switches, routers, networks, and associated management.
- Basic knowledge of electrical engineering, power systems, process automation, IEC 61850, IP-based communication solutions, or project management.

As a person, we believe you have a great curiosity for technical solutions within electricity networks and automation, are service-oriented, and enjoy having a cohesive role for various technical issues within the field. Since the network of contacts in the role is broad, both internally and externally, good collaboration skills and the ability to work in a structured manner are required. Furthermore, we believe that you are unpretentious and responsible in your own work.
A requirement is that you should have a good ability to express yourself in spoken and written Swedish.
Additional Information
Location: Trollhättan, Solna, Västerås, Linköping, or Uppsala. Travel in the job occurs, mainly based around the location.
