About the role

We are now looking for an experienced mechanical designer on behalf of our client, who wants to combine technical depth with the opportunity to take a step towards a leadership role. Our client is a high-tech company operating in areas such as medical technology, research, and industry.

In the role of mechanical designer, you will be a key person in the development team, working on design for mass production. You will closely collaborate with colleagues in electronics, software, and production. This role is suitable for you who want to take the step towards a team leader role – you will gradually take responsibility for coordinating work, supporting colleagues, and acting as a mentor in the group.

We are looking for someone who has:

• 7–10 years of experience as a designer and/or simulation engineer
• Can design for mass production (DFA, DFM)
• Understanding of construction related to electrical engineering/electronic cooling
• Experience with manufacturing techniques such as injection molding, light metal casting, sheet metal, welding assemblies, etc.
• Knowledge in simulation (thermal, CFD, strength) with COMSOL, ANSYS, Altair, or Nastran
• Broad material knowledge (metal, plastic, ceramics)
• Experience with machine and electrical safety and certification

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with Autodesk Vault Professional, Inventor, and Sovelia PLM
• Experience with Infor LN and Visual Factory
• Previous experience in coordination or technical leadership

• Scope: Full-time, Mon – Fri
• Start: As soon as possible, considering notice period
• Location: Uppsala
• This is initially a consulting assignment via The Place, with good opportunities for extension or takeover by the client.
