ENACO is one of Sweden's leading companies in the construction, operation, and maintenance of critical infrastructure. The company was founded in 1977 and thus has the industry's longest experience, with offices in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Helsingborg, and Malmö, and around 120 employees. The Stockholm office is located in Kista.

ENACO offers a comprehensive range of services in the construction, operation, and development of data centers and other critical infrastructure. They assist customers throughout the entire process, from design and commissioning of complete data centers to consulting and expert support during new establishments, where they often take overall responsibility or responsibility for parts of the construction.

In addition, ENACO provides network installations, technical integration, and vendor-independent backup power solutions that guarantee a safe and continuous power supply – whether it concerns data centers, hospitals, banks, or other critical societal operations.

As a long-term partner focused on sustainability and operational reliability, ENACO actively works with energy optimization, energy efficiency, and heat recovery in its solutions to ensure resource-efficient and future-proof facilities.

The company is in an exciting growth phase and is now looking for a Cooling Designer to help strengthen ENACO's position as a leading partner in critical infrastructure.

We at Asta Agency are collaborating with Enaco in this recruitment process. The process is conducted through Asta, and you will then be employed directly by Enaco.

About the position

The role of Cooling Designer involves developing reliable and energy-efficient solutions for cooling and ventilation systems in technically demanding environments, often related to data centers. You work through the entire chain: needs analysis, load and power calculations, selection of cooling principle (e.g., free cooling, liquid cooling, DX, cooling towers), material specifications, and cost calculations. You produce drawings and technical descriptions, define redundancy levels (e.g., N/N+1), and collaborate with related disciplines such as electrical, control, and safety.

Together with sales, you present proposals to customers and provide ongoing technical support to project managers during delivery. You ensure that the solutions comply with applicable requirements and standards, and contribute to developing methods, templates, and working practices in the team – with a particular focus on energy efficiency, PUE, and sustainable operations.

The assignments span both the private and public sectors and include medium and large companies, organizations, and authorities as well as international companies. Customers have high demands for operational reliability, and here you design technically advanced, socially critical solutions with clear impact.

Qualifications and attributes

You are a meticulous and business-minded designer in cooling/ventilation who enjoys translating requirements into robust functionality. You effortlessly switch between analysis, sizing, and calculations, creating clear documents that drive projects forward.

  • Post-secondary education in HVAC/cooling/energy or equivalent experience
  • Several years of experience in the design and sizing of cooling and ventilation systems
  • Ability to perform load, power, and energy/recovery calculations as well as cost calculations
  • Experience with CAD/BIM and producing drawings and technical descriptions
  • Familiarity with systems such as CRAC/CRAH, chiller/cooling towers, free cooling, liquid-cooled solutions, containment, and airflow optimization
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, laws, and standards (e.g., F-gas, Ecodesign, SS‑EN 378)
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish and English
  • Driver's license and approved security clearance with background check
  • Personal attributes: organized, initiative-taking, customer-oriented, business-minded, collaborative, and technically curious

Preferred experiences

  • Projects from data centers/server rooms or other mission-critical environments
  • Experience with energy calculations, LCC/LCA, and PUE optimization
  • Design and application of redundant cooling chains (e.g., N+1, N+N)
  • CFD analyses/airflow studies and thermal simulation
  • Coordination with electrical, control/regulation, fire, and safety in multidisciplinary assignments
  • Participation in bidding work – calculations, technical appendices, and customer presentations
  • Method and template development within design/planning

Other information

  • Start: By agreement
  • Location: Stockholm (Kista), travel may occur in the position
  • Scope: Full-time
  • Salary: By agreement

We apply ongoing selection in this process, which means that the position may be filled before the advertisement is removed. We therefore recommend you to apply as soon as possible!
