Affärsverkens shipping company operates scheduled traffic year-round on behalf of Blekingetrafiken, and we also have charter and event traffic that is operated commercially. We are looking for a Deckhand for the 2026 season

A good reception during boarding and on board makes the journey an experience. As a Deckhand, you are available for our passengers. You assist with everything from docking, receiving passengers, selling tickets, taking care of the cafeteria, checking the machines, cleaning on board, answering questions, and providing information, among other things. Your task is also to assist the captain on the bridge.

Job Responsibilities:
On a typical workday, you take good care of our passengers and assist them in small and large matters. Before departure, you restock the cafeteria, prepare the sales equipment, and ensure that everything is clean and tidy on board. When customers come on board, you check tickets, greet them, and at departure, you are the one who casts off.

Some of your responsibilities:

• Be active and available during boarding and disembarking.

• Be extra helpful at the dock in poor visibility.

• Ensure that everything is neat and orderly on board.

• Ensure that the cafeteria is stocked.

• Take care of kiosk and ticket sales on board.

• Assist in the daily operation of the vessel's machinery as well as maintenance.

• Serve our customers during charters and events.

Experience and Skills:
For the position required:

• Valid medical certificate for seafarers STCW Manila.

• Valid Basic Safety STCW Manila.

• Good knowledge of Swedish and English.

• Ability to perform the knots and hitches required for safe mooring and securing of vessels.

Preferred:

• Experience in charter and scheduled traffic.

• Local knowledge of the Karlskrona archipelago.

• B driver's license.

Conditions:
