Fire Engineer/Fire Inspector
Are you passionate about developing a forward-thinking fire service? With us, you will have the opportunity to grow alongside friendly colleagues and meaningful tasks. Do you want to be one of us?
Strängnäs is a growing municipality in the heart of Mälardalen – combining the closeness of a small town with the opportunities of a big city. The fire service plays an important role in ensuring safety in the municipality. We actively invest in development, collaboration, and new technology to meet future needs.
We have 33 full-time employees (of which eight are in pure daytime positions) and approximately 45 RIB employees (part-time firefighters). Operationally, we have a full-time force in Strängnäs and two RIB forces distributed in Strängnäs as well as jointly for Mariefred and Åkers Styckebruk. At the beginning of 2025, a first responder will also be introduced in Stallarholmen. The total preparedness in the municipality is at least 16 people.
We collaborate with all our neighboring municipalities and since 2022 primarily within the system management RC Öst, which consists of five fire services covering 17 municipalities. Within the area, there are four shared operational management functions with continuous staffing. Our system management is part of RC Mitt (Greater Stockholm) in the Eastern Svealand Rescue Region (RRÖS), which includes 13 fire services covering 43 municipalities.
With us, you will:
- Be part of an engaged and knowledgeable team.
- Work in a forward-leaning organization focused on quality and development.
- Make a real difference – every day, in a profession of societal importance.

- Processing permits for flammable and explosive goods.
- Conducting training initiatives internally or externally based on experience and interest.

We are looking for someone who has:
- A degree in fire engineering or equivalent education, alternatively education in Supervision A and B or another relevant background deemed equivalent.

We consider it an advantage if you have:
- Experience in regulatory enforcement or inspection work.

Your personal qualities are important to us, and we will place great emphasis on them. To thrive with us, we see that you are meticulous, engaged, and independent with a good ability to collaborate and build trust.
