About the role

We are currently seeking, on behalf of our client, an experienced mechanical designer who wants to combine technical depth with the opportunity to step into a leadership role. Our client is a high-tech company operating in areas such as medical technology, research, and industry.

As a mechanical designer, you will be a key person in the development team and work on design for mass production. You will closely collaborate with colleagues in electronics, software, and production. This role is suitable for you who want to take the step towards a team leader role – you will gradually take responsibility for coordinating work, supporting colleagues, and acting as a mentor within the group.

We are looking for someone who has:

• 7–10 years of experience as a designer and/or simulation engineer
• Ability to design for mass production (DFA, DFM)
• Understanding of design related to electrical engineering/electronic cooling
• Experience with manufacturing techniques such as injection molding, light metal casting, sheet metal, welding assemblies, etc.
• Knowledge in simulation (thermal, CFD, strength) with COMSOL, ANSYS, Altair, or Nastran
• Broad material knowledge (metals, plastics, ceramics)
• Experience with machine and electrical safety and certification

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with Autodesk Vault Professional, Inventor, and Sovelia PLM
• Experience with Infor LN and Visual Factory
• Previous experience in coordination or technical leadership

Additional information

• Scope: Full-time, Mon – Fri
• Start: As soon as possible, considering notice period
• Location: Uppsala
• This is initially a consulting assignment via The Place, with good opportunities for extension or takeover by the client.
