As a newly graduated nurse in surgical ward 10, you will be offered an introduction over 8 weeks with the possibility of extension if needed. If you are an experienced nurse, we will adapt the introduction based on your needs. The introduction is a mix of theory and practice. The clinic's introduction program also includes scheduled group meetings for a year, where the content is based on core competencies in surgical care. In the department, we work with competence cards for, for example, V-tube, central accesses, and EDA. As a new employee, you will be assigned a mentor. There are educational leaders in the department to ensure you get what you need in your introduction.

Job description

The operations within the surgical clinic at Vrinnevisjukhuset are focused on diagnostics and treatment of diseases in the gastrointestinal tract and the body's endocrine system, as well as trauma. The clinic also has a urological unit with 6 beds. The clinic conducts both acute and planned operations. As a nurse in the clinic, you will work within the different sections. In your role, you will lead and distribute the work in the team around the surgical and urological patient. During a shift, you will be responsible for 4-6 patients, together with 1-2 nursing assistants. The work is varied in both pace and tasks. No day is like the other.

Work group

Surrounding you are many professions and functions that are also part of the team, such as specialist nurses and advanced specialist nurses in surgical care, doctors, physiotherapists, dietitians, social workers, and more. We collaborate closely in the care team with daily team rounds based on a specific round structure, check-ins, and reflections. With us, there are opportunities for professional development, various side assignments, further education, and a very good research climate. The department also conducts Clinical Teaching Department (KUA) in collaboration with Linköping University, and this year we have been awarded the prize for the year's VFU place by the nursing section.

About you

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse. We prefer that you have experience as a nurse. Previous experience in healthcare is an advantage, especially in surgery.

As you work in constant dialogue with patients and colleagues, it is a requirement that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.

You have good collaboration skills and can plan, organize, and prioritize your work. You are secure and stable and have good self-awareness. You have a professional approach and good communication skills. We also see that you have empathy and find it easy to solve problems that arise along the way. You also have the ability to put things in their right perspective and act professionally. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
