We at WeStaff are now looking for a Mechanical Designer / Team Lead for a leading technology company in northern Stockholm that develops advanced hardware products with high precision and quality.
Here you will have a broad and developing role where you combine technology, coordination, and leadership. You will become a central part of the company's hardware team and have the opportunity to influence both design, development processes, and product strategy – in an environment where technology and innovation are at the forefront.
About the role
As a Mechanical Designer / Team Lead, you will lead a small team of 3–5 mechanical designers while also working operationally with design yourself. About half of your time will be spent on your own design work in SolidWorks, and the rest on planning, prioritization, and technical coordination.
You will be responsible for driving hardware meetings, ensuring technical deliveries, and serving as the main contact for project management. The role requires a structured and communicative person who thrives at the forefront of technology and finds it easy to create collaboration between different disciplines such as mechanics, electronics, and production.
Main responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate a team of mechanical designers (3–5 people)
- Plan and prioritize tasks in ongoing projects
- Conduct hardware meetings and ensure progress in development work
- Work independently with design in SolidWorks (plastic and metal)
- Ensure quality and technical documentation of products
- Be the contact person for project management, purchasing, and production
- Contribute to improved working methods, techniques, and processes
Who are you?
You are an experienced mechanical designer with a strong technical understanding and an interest in leadership. You enjoy working both strategically and practically, and you like to see how your solutions turn into real products.
You have a natural drive, are communicative and structured, and are motivated to lead others towards common goals.
We believe you have:
- Several years of experience in mechanical design within product development
- Very good experience with molded articles in plastic and metal with cosmetic requirements
- SolidWorks as your main CAD tool
- Understanding of production adaptation and DFM
- Good ability to plan, communicate, and follow up work in a team
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
- Experience in electronics-related design or hardware development is a plus.
Practical information
Scope: Full-time
Location: Northern Stockholm
Start: Immediately, by agreement
We offer:
- A role with significant influence and technical responsibility
- The opportunity to combine leadership with advanced design
- An innovative and international environment with a high level of engineering
- Good development opportunities within technology and leadership
- Collective agreement, competitive salary, and attractive benefits
