We are looking for a coordinating project leader for our client in the traffic industry.

The overall purpose of the project is to improve accessibility and capacity in the region's transport system, as well as to contribute to sustainable societal development in the long term. This initiative will create more efficient connections, strengthen regional integration, and provide conditions for sustainable growth and urban development.

Implementation and Timeline

The project began with a study and analysis phase and has since transitioned into design and planning work, including environmental assessments and permitting processes. The planned construction start is estimated for the end of this decade, with traffic operations expected to begin around the 2030s.

Job Description

The role of the coordinating project leader involves driving the design process within the client's project organization until the completion of tender documents and construction drawings, ensuring that the facility can be planned and built in accordance with applicable regulations, requirements, and budget.

The assignment also includes leading preparatory work during the planning phase, such as related to land and tunnel work, as well as collaborating with other functions within the main project. The role reports to the main project manager for the implementation phase.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the work with design, tender documents, and construction drawings.
  • Ensure that the design follows the timeline, budget, and quality requirements.
  • Coordinate and manage designers and technical specialists.
  • Ensure that technical, legal, environmental, and workplace safety requirements are met in all phases.
  • Coordinate the design internally and with other subprojects and support functions.
  • Ensure that constructability and workplace safety are considered in the design.
  • Review deliveries and monitor progress.
  • Prepare decision and information materials in the form of reports and presentations.
  • Participate in project, technical, and authority meetings as needed.
  • Assist in the procurement of consultants and contractors and support the transition to the production phase.
  • Be responsible for design issues during the construction phase and the development of as-built documents.

Required Qualifications

  • Extensive experience: At least eight years of documented experience in design or technical investigations in larger construction or civil engineering projects with an investment volume exceeding 500 million SEK.
  • Leadership in design: At least eight years of experience in a leading role within construction documentation for building, civil engineering, and installation projects of equivalent size.
  • Multidisciplinary coordination: At least eight years of experience in managing complex projects with multiple technical areas (at least eight disciplines in at least four different assignments) within construction, civil engineering, and installation, in projects over 300 million SEK.
  • Public client: At least eight years of experience working on behalf of a public client.
  • Requirement specification: Documented experience in developing and following up technical requirements within construction, civil engineering, and installation – substantiated by at least two reference projects.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in construction, civil engineering, or installation technology.
  • Railway planning process: At least four years of experience in a leading design role related to railway planning – verified by at least one reference project.

Desirable Experience

  • At least eight years of experience as a project manager in construction, civil engineering, and installation.
  • At least eight years of experience in a leading or coordinating role within construction and civil engineering production, including experience as BAS-P or BAS-U.

Overtime work may occur during the execution of the assignment, both in the form of simple and qualified overtime, depending on the project's needs and workload.
